Who Own RAM Trucks?

The Dodge brand was created in 1900, but they didn’t start producing trucks until 1914. One of their signature light-duty trucks was called Ram, and the name has stuck ever since. Eventually, Chrysler bought the Dodge brand, taking the RAM lineup along with it. RAM trucks from 1981 to 2009 were known as “Dodge RAM” models, and you might see them on the Hernando Beach road to this day. But eventually, a split occurred between the two brands.

When Did Dodge and RAM Split?

Following the sale to Chrysler in 1981, Dodge and RAM remained a unified brand until the 2009 split. At this point, Chrysler sought to maximize the benefits of both lineups by creating two separate brands. Dodge focused on cars, SUVs, and minivans, while RAM focused solely on pickup trucks. This bold move resulted in the creation of models like the Dodge Challenger and Charger, while RAM grew into a global name in its own right.

The Current RAM Lineup

The current RAM lineup includes a variety of trucks and commercial vans, and you’ll find these outstanding models all over the Spring Hill roads. Models include:
